Delta faucet wand replacement/repair

The sparer wand is difficult to operate, that switch between normal flow and sprayer is stuck. The wand is labeled Delta A112.18.1

So I google for that part number and I see some Moen results. There is a similar model A112.18.1m, not sure if that m is Moen or not because the results are mixed. Anyway, I find a Delta Faucet web site when're you can order repair parts and chat with a specialist. Cool.

Are you fscking kidding me? how can a simple part number for a faucet results in 1400 results? What is this this, a mission critical component of the Mars Rover what what? It's a dumb piece of plastic.

Relax, Moen, and Delta I believe, will support their products.

Call the company, and with their help, you should have a new part within a week or so.

Although, after going to Delta, and doing simple searches, I feel your pain. Over 2k results, for the simplest search.

Phone them...

The sprayer handle might not be the cause of your problem. In my kitchen sinks there's a "diverter valve" that's below the mixer cartridge. The pressure change of the sprayer starting to spray causes it to move and shut off the flow to the faucet spout and when the sprayer pressure drops it flips back. They can fail and stop moving and appear stuck in sprayer mode, turning the faucet off usually releases them back to their default position.

That might be the part you need to try replacing first.

I don't think there is a diverter valve, this is a simple sprayer that I can remove from the hose and there is no way to activate a diverter valve. Also turning the faucet ON and OFF does not solve the issues. I did clean it once, and it worked fine for a few days, you could feel a click, but it quickly got dirty again. I think it requires a disassembly and cleaning, and I can't do that unless I have a replacement on hand, otherwise...

sure I can try to call Delta. i am not the original purchaser, I need to check documentation left from pervious owners to see if I can find a receipt, in case they ask for one.

My gripe is not with the support, but with the 1400 results for what seems like a simple part.

I just did this yesterday. Use the product identification tool further down on the page.

You probably need a new diverter valve. At least thats what I'm trying.

This was my problem with sink and shower valves. Never have time to wait for the part and end up purchasing at Home Depot. If I was smart I would still ask for the replacement, but once it is fixed it is out of mind.

FWIW when my Delta showerhead failed they sent me a new one. Took about two weeks."Because COVID". I used the old contractor showerhead I had saved.
