I have a few large items for sale that will be picked up. Any way to accept payment via check or via money order?

Why would you want to accept a check? Seems more likely to encounter fraud that way. I would take cash. You can request any of those payments at pick-up, however, you cannot disable PayPal. You are required to offer an electronic payment method.

eBay now has a system for local pick-ups to prevent "item not received" cases. The buyer gets a QR Code that the seller scans at pick-up.

Thanks for that. I'll probably get cash as there is an official way of marking the transaction as complete. But a couple of things are not expensive, just too large to ship.
