R.I.P. Mr. Jobs

Hard to believe that it's been 9 years since Steve Jobs left us on 10/5/2011. A true visionary who was gone long before his time. I feel that one significant, lasting legacy is appointing Tim Cook as his replacement.

Agreed.

When a good man is hurt,
all who would be called good
must suffer with him.

Everybody matters or nobody matters.

You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead.

There is no safety for honest men except
by believing all possible evil of evil men.

We don’t do focus groups. They just ensure that you don’t offend anyone, and produce bland inoffensive products. —Sir Jonathan Ive

And hope is a lousy defense.

You make me pull, I'll put you down.

Mister, that's a ten-gallon hat on a twenty-gallon head.

I *love* SIGs. It's Glocks I hate.

Even just the first 5 seconds gets me -- hes clearly very focused, pensive, and very sure of what hes about to say. He doesnt have to convince you this will be the greatest thing ever, hes already convinced.

I have his biography still sitting on my desk. I am unable to read it.

Being touched by his genius. Not the most profound thing in my life, but profound.

His legacy still lives on for sure.

I stand by that his personal tragedy led him to take a fresh view of the fragility of life, and to give him a sense of urgency that took him from Steve Jobs vs 1 (with Apple II and Macintosh) to Steve Jobs v2 (iPod, then iPhone and iPad).

We thus are benefitting from the genius of our Greek Tragic Hero.

RIP, Mr Jobs.

Relief and exhaustion after completing his last keynote address.

He "was among the greatest of American innovators," President Obama said in a statement marking the death of Steve Jobs. "Brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it."

Leader.
