I'm not talking you out of that in any way. Because if you get it working I might just do the same. Is there a website with info on the config?

Make sure you use a 3B+ minimum, preferably a 4, or you'll have terrible network transfer speeds.

You should try to do USB boot instead of the MicroSD or you'll corrupt the card after an unpredictable number of hard shutdowns (Power outages).

Add PiHole while you're at it to double its usefulness.

I moved and dragged my feet and I didn't install the PiHole. What a mistake. I should probably do it this weekend. The internet is almost unusable without it.

I have a 4. I'm realizing that I'm going to need to find a new place to park my pi since I won't be able to solely rely on PoE anymore.
