need to get my brother an inexpensive VoLTE phone, used, as T-Mo no longer supports non-VoLTE/2G/3G.

Anyone one using one of these have anything to say about it?

I really like LG's interface, and we have a couple of similar vintage V20's, that worked pretty reliably for close to 3 years, but then have been problematic the last few months. When LG's work, they're great, when they don't, not so great. If you get a good one for bro, it'll be terrific. New T-Mo SIM's due to be delivered any minute now; if that solves our problems, we'll be golden again. Don't know how to insure that bro gets a good one, other than a trial period that's long enough to put it thru its paces, or buying from a reliable seller that will guaranty it.
Good luck.

LG reliability I have a little too much experience with.
My wife and I had G4s when they came out. Nothing but repeated problems and returns. I finally gave up on mine and bought a HTC U11 at a year old or so. She held out longer and I badgered LG and got a V20 off them.
So far, 1 year out, no major issues.
I'm reluctant to buy anything LG, even a toaster, but Samsung, Pixel and iPhos are pretty $$ for his use. Calls, texts and the occasional interweb.
The other "off brands" are pure crap from what I've seen. Figure for $100 he should get 2 to 3 years ... hopefully.

I bought that model for my son. I have the V30 and really like it. Video and audio are excellent with LG, and on my V30 particularly the audio is excellent. The G6 doesn't have quite that but it does have a great rear fingerprint sensor and a good interface and for the price (about $100 on eBay) it is a great buy.

I have had G4, G6, and G7. Liked them all, and the only reason I was upgrading was that the company was paying for it. My son, on the other hand, had 50/50 good/bad experiences with the same models.

No way I'd risk buying another LG phone, not after the G4 debacle.

I said that as well, probably here. LG just seems like a company that doesn't care much. Told the LG CS people several times how much LG p'd me off.
But after harassing LG endlessly, they did follow up, as I said, for my spouse with a V20, which has been free of four letter words.

There really isn't that much in the used market that a luddite can contend with for under a buck.

he ain't heavy .... as example:
"on the otter hand I didn't have to deal w/ any cellular upgrade bs w/ my landline, I could make calls & receive msgs. not looking to spend $100. for a phone only to have newer more fabulous issues in future. the whole digital / cellular revolution is not only a scam, but seems like a race to the bottom while you're thinking you're going up. "

Got the new SIM's for the V20's last evening during dinner.....

all is well, again.
Hopefully at least another 3-1/2 years before another issue.

Now I'm just a bit miffed at why they didn't re-SIM us sooner...
could've avoided a lot of wasted time and angst.
For us *AND* T-Mo tech support.

Still really like the LG interface.

I've got a friend who uses a flip phone for the same reason.
