My daughter has been using her iPhone as a document camera for her classes but she has to set it up for each class which requires some fine tuning. It would be better to have a dedicated doc camera.

Does anyone use one ? Any advice on what to look for? Hopefully it will only be needed through the spring semester, so it shouldn’t be too expensive, say under $100.

Are you talking about your daughter teaching a live lesson or scanning a document as if it were a photo or PDF?

If it is the former, a live camera to show students, good lighting and a USB webcam that shows 1080P would be good. The epoch cam app allows iPhones and iPads to be used as a webcam. I have hooked up my iPad mini 2 and iPhone6S plus. The free version is low res but the paid version for $8 allows 1080p.

My wife is using the HueHD document camera for her classroom and remote teaching. Its not perfect but is easy to use and only $79.

It functions better via the web viewer in Chrome that the MacOS software that Hue supplies.

Yeah still lost. I’m not clear on how the same thing can be both the display device and the camera unless you’re “filming yourself while watching something else.”
