Document camera advice

My daughter has been using her iPhone as a document camera for her classes but she has to set it up for each class which requires some fine tuning. It would be better to have a dedicated doc camera.

Does anyone use one ? Any advice on what to look for? Hopefully it will only be needed through the spring semester, so it shouldn’t be too expensive, say under $100.

Thanks.

Are you using the fine tune document scanner the Notes for iPhone and iPad? [www.imore.com]

Actually she just puts the phone as a separate zoom feed.

Are you talking about your daughter teaching a live lesson or scanning a document as if it were a photo or PDF?

If it is the former, a live camera to show students, good lighting and a USB webcam that shows 1080P would be good. The epoch cam app allows iPhones and iPads to be used as a webcam. I have hooked up my iPad mini 2 and iPhone6S plus. The free version is low res but the paid version for $8 allows 1080p.
All the details are here from when I tried the free version. [forums.macresource.com]

I just learned something...

Document camera:
Document cameras, also known as visual presenters, visualisers, digital overheads, or docucams, are real-time image capture devices for displaying an object to a large audience.

My wife is using the HueHD document camera for her classroom and remote teaching. Its not perfect but is easy to use and only $79.

It functions better via the web viewer in Chrome that the MacOS software that Hue supplies.

I agree...that is the one if you can handle the price.

So this is a verb, not a noun?

Yeah still lost. I’m not clear on how the same thing can be both the display device and the camera unless you’re “filming yourself while watching something else.”
