LOL, yes, somedays it's not worth a trip even though there's mail.
I've recently started using the Street Addressing Service for my POB.
Typically, UPS, FedEX, and any other common carrier can't deliver to my POB because they don't pay US postage.
For small package delivery, they offer Sure Post, Smart Post, Mail Innovations, and other services where they aggregate packages then ship them via USPS.
But that's as slow or slower than USPS Standard mail, and any expedited shipping isn't available.
With USPS Street Addressing Service, I use the PO's street address along with my POB number, and UPS, FedEx et al, can deliver packages to the PO, and they're delivered to my POB.
It's a great service and is really convenient for me, with one exception.
USPS requires a specific addressing format so as not to confuses POBs with PMBs (Private Mail Boxes) which are not recognized by the USPS but by the business that serve them – the USP Store, Mail Boxes Etc., etc.
Not every online vendor's software allows for that required address formatting.
Of the top of my head, only B&H and some other vendor I've dealt with offer to accept my correction to their software's addressing.
But it's worked out so far, thanks the USPS figuring it out, regardless of the vendor's treatment.
So maybe I'll give Informed Delivery a try.
Maybe I'll get a separate email for them.
