I selected 3 photos in the photo app and wrote a lengthy message to send with them. (This was on my iPhone.) Near the end of my message I was interrupted for 10-15 mins and set the phone aside. When I returned the text and recipient had disappeared. Photos are still there. Search as I may, I still can’t find the text. it must be there somewhere, mustn’t it? I did not erase or delete it. Any thoughts on where i might find it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Start a new text to the same recipient. I bet the old one will reappear.

In Messages/Preferences on the Mac or in Settings/Messages on the iPhone, there's a setting for the length of time to retain Messages. The shortest period is 30 days.

I think I will just put an OUT OF ORDER
sticker on my head and call it a day.

I don't think the Photos app caches draft messages when the app closes/sleeps... Sorry - this is something that Messages would have saved for you. Maybe next time, draft the text in Messages and attach the photos from there?
