I'm in zero financial position to get any iPads, but I really like the new Air.
However, and beyond the financial aspect, just about the only thing I really use one for is reading. I prefer it over the Kindle line because of its ability to handle ePub and my full library of PDFs and Apple Books; with the iPad, I have both Apple Books and Kindle. With the Kindle, I just have Amazon (and my memory of their formatting issues (some books I had back when were all but unreadable because of poor formatting) is still big in my mind; it's something I never encountered with Apple Books).
That said, I'm wondering from the new line if the Air is a better iPad for readers. It's too much money for a reader but if my company offers to get me something, I'd like to look into the specifics at some point. (I currently don't have an iPad at all; my son needed one for artwork, so I gave him my 2017 model, which would work with an Apple Pencil)
(BTW, it's spelled < y'all >.)
