Got the message this morning after I updated Catalina. Removed the offending framework from the library to assuage the fretting OS, but kept a copy elsewhere in case I need to put it back. Have not tried to print. Just a signature issue, not really a portent of the End Times.

Some have reported getting working certs via this website. Didn't work for me:

Yup, not end times; just over-active Apple security

I received no message other than some Temp file wasn't accessible but the printer stopped working.

Would be nice to just have an alert that the cert is bad and that it needs to be updated, but still be allowed to print.

Huh; go figure.

Like C(-)ris, all I saw was a spool/temp file error message in my printer queue.

I deleted the printer, re-added it, and all was well. Been printing all afternoon since.

I had to switch from using the HP driver to Airprint to make it work. Deleting and adding the printer again did not work.

Hi everyone,

This issue affected two of my machines. The solution was to download the driver installation software from HP's web site and run the installer. Got an error message about the same offending file but now the machine can print again. Very annoying.

I'm not a bank printing checks or SSNs. I could not care any less if my print jobs are sent with a valid certificate or not. This is overkill for 99% of users to require a cert to print.

Looks like maybe the issue has more impact on older printers where the drivers/cert are older.

Space,

No. The Officejet Pro 8600 isn't tremendously old. The irony is that the issue affected my home iMac and my wife's 2019 MBPr 15", both running Mojave. It did not affect my home office 2015 MBPr 13", also running Mojave. Makes no sense to me!

Reportedly (1) Apple has a Software Update coming out tonight or tomorrow, and (2) for some folks, this driver fixes it, via ftp:

[t.co]

Takes a long time too install. Checking it out now.

(Time passes)

My printer's working again from my 2015 MBA. Should work on my 2010 MP.
