Just replaced an 20" iMac G5 with a 24" Intel iMac. To keep from crawling around on the floor I just used the old power cord from the G5. I assume they are exactly the same but you know what they about assuming. Just looking for a little reassurance that they are in fact the same cord.

Also any other tips about what should be done after migrating from Power PC to Intel since I moved apps over. I want to benefit as much as possible from the speed of my new Mac.

So far all I've had to do is re-enter some licensing info and reinstall my FruitMenu.

Also for some reason my clock wouldn't set to the correct time from the servers until I set it manually and then switched back to setting from the server.

Check your apps to make sure they're at least Universal Binary. A simple Get Info will tell you that. Any that aren't, go look for an update.

You can also use some app to strip the PowerPC code from your apps; I forget which one that is, but it's one of the common "maintenance" apps like Cocktail or something. The only benefit there is disk space, really.

Some apps are coming with Intel-only versions in addition to Universal Binary (VLC is an example). You could always look for those as well.
