Anyone (successfully) using a Magic Mouse in Catalina??

IT updated my work Macbook Pro Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015 to Catalina a few weeks ago, and after a few necessary app updates, things have gone smoothly. That is, except for my bluetooth Magic Mouse no longer working. The funny thing is, it did for a few days after the update, but I have tried pretty much every troubleshooting thing I've been able to google, to no avail. I even had IT tried to get it working remotely, but that didn't work either. Thankfully, I have a wired mouse to work with, but there has to be a solution, no?

In my googling, I learned that many others have the problem in Catalina, but that doesn't help. Anyone here have the two things working together nicely?

Hmmm...okay, good to know it's working for some of you. But frustrating that it isn't for me. It's fully charged, and even when I plug it into the Macbook to pair it, it says "Connecting", but it just spins and spins and spins forever. I've tried restarting, shutting it down, then starting up from scratch, unpairing, deleting preferences, all without success.

To confirm it's not a mouse problem, I tried using it with my 2012 Mac Mini and it works fine.

Could the mouse think it's already paired with a computer? I just had that problem switching my headphones from my phone to my mac.

Remove any prior BT paired devices.

Pair the Magic Mouse via BT instead of using the Lightning cable by toggling the mouse's power off and on again while viewing the BT settings on the Mac.

All good thoughts, but it's not paired with anything. And I tried pairing via Bluetooth first. Funny thing is it said it was paired, but it didn't do anything.

Try it with another computer.

My guess is that someone dropped it and it's busted.

Just paired it again with the Mini (El Capitan) and am using it now. No love with the Macbook Pro, though. Oh well.

Since it works in another Mac, are there BT .plists that could be trashed?

Restart the MBP into Safe Boot?

Don't suppose you have DiskWarrior?

That often fixes odd behavior for me.

No DiskWarrior. And anything that requires getting into the inner sanctum of the MBP will require IT's involvement (again). In fact, I think one of the first things they tried was deleting BT .plists. Probably time to get them on board again at this point.

Thanks, all.

Missed it in your second post. Sorry.

Just in case your IT guys overlooked it, toss com.apple.Bluetooth.plist from /Library/Preferences and reboot.

When you reboot, hold down Command+Option+P+R (zap PRAM) and watch for the screen to subtly refresh a couple of times before letting go of the keys.
