Monitor Color Calibration: where are all those options?

I recall you had to choose some parameters to see an Apple agains a background but I cannot see this option in high Sierra or Mojave.

It goes from Introduction directly to Target White Point, it skips over Setup.

and then all you can do is rename the profile. You cannot tweak the individual RGB channels.

I was trying to see if I can tweak RBG to help with a game where I have trouble seeing the colors (I have color vision deficiency).

first I was using my old MBP on High Sierra with failed AMD GPU and I run a firmware hack to use only the integrated GPU. I thought this hack disable colors. Fine, I took my wife's MacBook Air on Mojave and same thing. No way to make advanced adjustments.

Hold down the Option key while you select Calibrate. This only works if the monitor can be calibrated.

I tried to calibrate using Apple’s built-in tools for several years. I have a reasonable eye for color, I but never got close to the kind of accuracy that I get by using a hardware device.

The MacOS “tools” are a very imprecise way to calibrate a monitor, compared to using a calibration device. If color accuracy is important to you, invest in a calibration gizmo.

Thanks e we I’ll give it a try. Is this a new thing? I clearly recall calibrating monitors without having to hold down Option to reveal hidden menus. I recall the Apple in some square where you had to squint or step back.

No, I am color blind. I just want to see if I can find a calibration that would help me distinguish easier between various colors when I play Catan at colonist.io

Thanks

OMG this actually works, it is exactly what I was looking for.

Why did they hide it like this? Who takes these kind of dumb decisions?

Thanks for your help.

Try using this configuration in Accessibility settings.

Or if that's not how your Accessibility settings looks, you could try a free third-party utility.
