Working on a story about Alzheimer's, a doctor explained that it was not unusual for major events to trigger memories, or for the patient to relive those memories.

It was one of the scariest revelations I ever heard. The story was about holocaust survivors with the disease. Many were reliving the camps.

They usually remember events, people and places from years earlier, but not what happened just 5 minutes ago.
