That was an enjoyable presentation.
I'm curious as to whether the mini will have replaceable RAM similar to the 2018, and I presume, 2020 mini.
It's odd that I see zero references to the latest mini, just about anywhere.

Anything with the word Pro in it needs more than two USB ports, especially when one is for charging.

Intel Mac Mini i5 and i7 still available. This M1 Mini seems to replace the i3 Mini. And they're color-coded by processor type: Space Gray for Intel, Silver for M1.

Yup, just found that:
"Memory
8GB unified memory
Configurable to: 16GB"
Same here.
Limited to 16G max, I'd like to see it and 2020 (or 2018) mini with 64G in a showdown.
Either Apple things M1 16G is good enough, or a higher limit will be available next go-round.

If I understood the presentation correctly, the new unified architecture reduces the amount of RAM required to run software, which enables full performance using less installed RAM.
As others have mentioned, the proof will be in the benchmarks that are sure to be available soon. I predict BareFeats.com will soon see a HUGE uptick in traffic to its site.
