I remember when it when down, it was a real mystery for decades. A friend was on the dive team that recovered the ships bell. It is now at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. Often forgotten, next week (Nov 18) is the 62 anniversary of the sinking of the Carl D. Bradley on Lake Michigan. Thirty-three of the 35 crew died in that accident in 1958. Both crews should be remembered.

"Unto Almighty God we commend the soul of our brother departed, and we commit his body to the deep; in sure and certain hope of the Resurrection unto eternal life, through our Lord Jesus Christ; at whose coming in glorious majesty to judge the world, the sea shall give up her dead; and the corruptible bodies of those who sleep in him shall be changed, and made like unto his glorious body; according to the mighty working whereby he is able to subdue all things unto himself."

- from Christian burial at sea prayer book

“No persons are more frequently wrong, than those who will not admit they are wrong.”
-- François de La Rochefoucauld

Growing older is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

I remember the tragedy well. They were so close to making a safe harbor. Too bad it didn't work out better for the ship and crew. It must have been terrifying to know your fate, and no way to survive.

Mr. Lahey: A lot of people, don’t know how to drink. They drink against the grain of the liquor. And when you drink against the grain of the liquor? You lose.

Randy: What the @#$%& are you talking about?
