An iPhone 12 mini is in residence.

It arrived in a box that could hold two 'Phones.

Probably an anti-theft consideration.

Or actually a One Size Fits All.

Some real origami-fu to hold it in place during shipping, but a breeze to get it out.

I'll move the SIM (I hope) from my OG SE to the 12m, a little later.

But it is a thing of beauty.

And it matches my Watch.

Yay!

mini leader!

setup from an old phone to new is painless, basically turn the new one on wave it over the old one... and wait... done.

just setup 3 new 12s... took nothing.

I went and touched a 12 mini today-I was impressed.

We have an appointment at T-Mobile tomorrow to trade our SE2020's for 12 mini's. I dropped by Verizon and talked with them about their deal and it just doesn't come close. We could do Visible for 2 for the same cost as the T-Mobile old guy plan but the overseas data included with T-Mobile is great, as is the $535 they'll give us for each of the SE2020's. So, T-Mobile it will be. Our cases have shown up already so we're good to go tomorrow!

Don’t use the SIM from your iPhone SE. It will not allow your new phone to connect to a 5g network

Thanks, I did not know! I had two SIMs with Flexiroam dual SIM stickers, will switch to eSIMs whenever we can travel again.

Good to know.

Don't I need a 5G plan to access a 5G network?

Anyway, I don't have another SIM, so I'll go with this one.

I'll need to buy another SIM, and don't know if att will wave the activation as they do when I get a 'Phone with a SIM.

I've got the mini and SE singin' a song, side by side.

One of them said xfer will take about 55min.

I assume that's a function of my slooooww WiFi?

I'll get a clear case for it, and maybe a MagSafe, but not the Duo.

Can't wait to accessorize!

LOL

Yes, you need a 5G plan to use 5G. I am in an area with no 5G yet, so I did not realize using the older SIM was potentially a slower phone.

I'm just going to call AT&T and get new SIM cards for our new 5G plans. Should not be too hard or expensive as these are replacement SIM cards, not activating new lines.

Should have a sim already in it? In the box?

55 minute time is the time to direct transfer between both. Wifi not used.

You have to order a 'Phone with a carrier plan to get a SIM.

I bought mine with the SIM free/Unlocked option, with the plan of moving my SE SIM to the mini.

It took hours to xfer 100G of data from the Old to the New.

I'm pretty sure WiFi is involved.

I assume the mini will only be 'slower' because of my lack of a 5G plan, but LTE speed will be the same as my SE.

Give the paucity of 5G near me, I can wait.
