I think the 221, the compact and transparent version is also very interesting

No, but I use crimp connectors whenever I need a safe & reliable splice.

btw, I hate wire nuts and there's good reasons why you don't use them on anything
that moves or subject to vibration.

I have been replacing like for like when I do electrical work at home, but often wrapping some electrical tape around the wire nut and then down around the wires to help keep them in place. Agree that crimp would feel safer.

If I used the Wago connectors I would live my life in fear that things might loosen and allow a wire to pull out, especially in an environment where there is any movement, I will stick with crimping connections.

If I were still in the classroom, something like the Wago connectors would be great for STEM projects. The Wago connectors look like they are made for inclusion with K'Nex kits.

The Wago look bulky for places where you use a lot of wire nuts, like fixture boxes.

The Wago connectors are not meant to replace wire nuts.

Comparing them to crimp connectors or wire nuts, is nuts.

Or apples to oranges.

There will be instances where you can use needle nose pliers to tighten a machine nut, or a metric spanner on a standard nut or bolt, but one wants to use the right tool for the job.

Replacing like for like, when somebody has done the job correctly, is definitely the way to go.

I'm no expert, but I don't think Wago designed their connectors for household wiring boxes.

They do what no wire nut or crimp can do, or do as well as the Wago.

They have been around for a very long time and work well.

If one is paranoid, or just a belt and suspenders man, then some tape could be wrapped around the Wago connectors, just like professionals don't do with wire nuts.
