It's getting late in the game. It's important you avoid the flu and any sickness confusion. Get your shot if you haven't already. It's The Middle of November already!

Nope, not going anywhere to catch it.

While COVID-19 is a BAD risk. influenza is still pretty darn bad. AND there is a vaccine for it. Do you live off the grid on a remote island and are totally self-sufficient ? No ? Then you may come in contact with someone with influenza (yes, or COVID-19). Getting an available immunization is prudent.

I got mine earlier this week. Had my usual reaction of "I feel bad" for a couple of days. Totally worth it.

Quadrivalent, no adjuvant. Very little soreness, for about a day.

Got it in October, which is quite early for me. But I also caught a flu about 6 yrs ago and had the flu shot, so certainly no guarantees. And it sucked! One week completely immobilized and and another just really sick.

I tend to believe that our typical flu is more or less a year round occurrence these days, with a few months of break in the warm months. It seems worst in the real cold months although there is a big push to vaccinate come the start of school.

Wife's birthday is the end of September and we use that as a reminder to walk down to Walgreens and get our shots. High dose, very slight soreness for maybe a day.

Back in my Air Force days, I got the shot one time and got quite sick for a week so I swore off the shot for a long time. No known ill effects of late so it is an annual event for us. Gotta do the shingles shot now.

Yup. Required for work and also will at least do nothing and at most avoid getting the flu.

I got this season's Flu shot back in late August when it first became available. There was a BIG sign in front of the Ingles' supermarket I was headed into and, NO line at the pharmacy. The super friendly pharmacist also had a Tetanus booster I qualified for (it had been 10+ years since my last Tetanus shot). I've been told that the Flu vaccine is only good for ~ six months. If that's true, I'll get another Flu shot in February. As for any Covid-19 vaccine; I'd stay FAR away from it (them) for quite some time and see what (if any) adverse effects there may be. Until such time comes, I'll continue to self-isolate in my RV. old fogey smiley

Yup, you all know because I posted about it here. I got a meningiococcal booster at the same time.

A 3-second needle prick is waaaaayyyyy better than a stick 4 inches up your nose.

Get the flu shot this year folks. Many pharmacies will do it with no appointment, no wait. It'll take 10 mins and you're on your way.

Yes, last month at the Publix pharmacy. Such a tiny needle, less pain than a mosquito bite, but my arm was sore for a few days after. The $10 gift card they give was a nice bonus! smiling smiley

I've got to give Kaiser a call.

A friend said he went into CVS and got one and there was no request for payment, and he didn't have to show any insurance card, etc.

Wow.

Any, got to call Kaiser.

I also flaked on the second round of the Shingles shot.
