I've mentioned this before, but not recently. . .

I'd like to find a 4k TV I could mount on the wall, maybe 32" or so, that I could plug a USB stick or SD card into and display photos automatically. I want it to have display intervals programmable (say anywhere from 10 seconds to an hour or two, to never), and the option to show in sequence or random. Last time I looked, I couldn't find one.

Do any exist?

This is what I do, although the TV and AppleTV are not dedicated to this.
When we (used to) entertain, I'll have pictures running in the background on our main TV in the living room.

PC Stick or Mac mini mounted behind the TV is how I would do it. That way you can set more parameters and add images easily.

......already do this using my memory......you can tell when my eyeballs roll up toward the right......but with age, it gets harder to do.....it will skip a few frames......now and then....

I've got a couple Insignia (Best Buy house brand) TVs that have a USB port and a slideshow function to show JPEG files. I don't know that you can control durations or randomize order, though.

AppleTV is on the TV in the living room. I'm looking for a wall-mounted unit just to display photos as you might hang a picture, not on a wall you'd sit at to watch.

Possible option, as there's a closet in the bathroom behind the wall I could put a small computer in. But with TV tech these days, you'd think a 'smart' one could handle images from a card or stick.

I really want one of those Frame TV units. Actually two or three of them. Just cannot stomach the price premium.

Good idea. Just looked on Roku site. Not clear if media app or USB app will let me set long slideshow times. Have to do some research, I guess. . .

If your tv will play m4v files, you can do this with Apple's Photos app. Select the photos that you want, go to "Projects" in the left sidebar in Photos and click the plus button. Choose Slideshow > Photos. You should get a new window that will preview the slideshow, let you select music, transition effects, display time, etc. Adjust as you wish. Once done, go to the menu bar>File>Export>Slideshow.

I have never used Apple's Photos application. I just use the Finder to organize folders of photos by date.

I do use Graphic Converter to view and edit photos. GC has a Slideshow function, but maximum delay (in the version I have—9) is 15 seconds, and I don't think it can do random. Should look at the newer version.
