Just wanted to remind everyone in this giving season (where many of us also need upgrades for our own stuff, so remember to gift yoself as well, ha), please give a gander to OWC wares. Also interested in candidates for this year's must-have...what is this year's USB coffee warmer? And does anyone recall (without first looking) what year that one was big? 1999 is my guess.

So much spy devices... kind of terrifying. I've already turned off the network sharing from my Amazon devices. "Sidewalk" my tushie !

Now if I can convert them to actual mesh devices that will work with my Orbi for my use only, that would be okay. I need to find an Orbi network to Ethernet device or program for a Raspberry Pi that would work so my older non wireless devices can talk to my network.

OWC is my go-to for upgrades for my new and legacy Macs, and has been for about 20 years.

So far this holiday season, I have bought 2 SSDs and one external case from our sponsor.

It's not USB (rather, standard AC outlet), but I got this, and have been really happy with it:

HOWEVER, it had an annoying feature, in that every single time you set a mug on the warmer, it would beep to let you know it was "activated." I was using this in the office (a shared office space), so it was a bit annoying and embarassing--everyone would know when I had taken a drink.

So I followed the advice of a couple other Amazon reviewers, and opened it up and removed the speaker. WAY easier than it might sound. No soldering, wire-cutting, or anything. Simply remove the four padded feet, unscrew four screws, lift case off, and then the little speaker will fall right out of its holder. It still works perfectly without the speaker. Not a necessity to make this change, but for me it's better without it.

I don't know when I got my USB coffee warmer but when I retired last year I found it buried on my desk. I might have used it twice in all those years.

I thought the USB scale was the thing to have, not a coffee warmer?
