Mysterious water noise from bathtub drain hole

It's a guttural rhythmic sound but not really like a drip. All the other water taps work and none affect this sound when they are turned on. There's a tub in the bathroom next to this one but it is silent.

Is it related to high wind ? Drain plumbing is vented, typically to the roof. Wind can pull a small vacuum on the vent , causing the drain trap to slosh. Or if the drain trap has dried out through lack of use, even vent the sewer system.

Make sure you run water into all your drains every few months at least, if you have unused plumbing in your home.

It's a calm day. That drain gets a workout as the primary shower.

Hold it. It quit when I turned off the blower fan on the Lennox heat pump. The heat pump has a PVC drain pipe for the condensation which ends up connected to the tub drain under the house and then flows out into the woods.

The 6" pipe that went into the woods was busted by the tree cutters this summer. A bull dozer cleared a trench to get the water further from the house. I bet it's all clogged up and the wind from the HVAC fan is blowing across the condensation PVC pipe and causing the pipe connected to both the HVAC pipe and bath tub pipe to "burp." Or not.

I have a septic tank. The toilets and dishwasher and kitchen sink go to it. The bathtubs, clothes washer and AC condensation go into the woods.

Ah, so not ALL your wastewater goes directly into the woods. Just grey water.
