I saw it this morning in Stuyvesant Cove, along the East River. Bigger than a pigeon.

That's an american Kestrel - I call them chicken hawks since they remind me of Foghorn Leghorn's sidekick

Beautiful bird. There's one that hangs out at the beginning of one of my running routes. I've never seen it that close, so it's cool to see a good pic.
