One more shout out for Kanopy

If you don’t know, it’s a streaming service that you may be able to get for free, thanks to your local library. They have apps for iOS devices (and I think Android as well).

Anyway, last weekend it was Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell in His Girl Friday - a little frentic, but a real classic. Last night we took a chance on Hearts Beat Loud, a small-budget indie-sort of film that nevertheless had (among others) Ted Danson (playing a bartender, but not the one you know) and Nick Offerman in a sweet, serious role that hit all the right notes for me. Really enjoyed it.

Disclaimer: absolutely no relationship with Kanopy at all; just thought I’d give it a(nother) shout out to a service that shows great movies that you may never heard of, for free.

Kanopy is a great source for odder films.
Lots of 50's and 60's Euro film and some good docs.

What if the hokey pokey really is what it’s all about?

Sounds a bit like Hoopla, available through our library. Nice options to have.

We have both. Kanopy has more stuff (Criterion) but Hoopla is very good.

I originally signed up for Hulu because of the Criterion label.
