PVC and glue is cheap. Leave enough room so you can cut it out and swap it out later.

The potential inconvenience of cleaning up the water after one of those joints comes apart should be on your mind instead. The joints are really meant for use in a drain system, not the type of usage you are planning. The static pressure of a 10 foot water column is not the same as the dynamic pressure and pressure pulses the joint would be subject to while the pump is active.
Use cemented joints.
