I need a new cordless phone system. Still Panasonic?

I had good luck with Panasonic DECT 6.0 phones over the years. Now I need a new set. The existing set is failing because the handsets were dropped too many times on the hardwood floors and after about 10-12 years the display does not work (you can can still take and make calls). Also we lost a couple of handsets over the years.

It must have AAA or AA cells, I don't like battery packs.

Battery packs aren't a big deal. Plenty of aftermarket suppliers for the name brands at good prices.

We have a Uniden set that's been working well for quite a number of years. One set of replacement battery packs in that time.

I discovered my home phone could be forwarded to my cell phone (or multiple cell phones) so I threw out my aging cordless phones in favor of that. I do keep a single simple phone in my office that does not require electricity. Maybe not what you are looking for but thought I'd mention it.

Acer,

Gotta disagree. Battery packs are annoying and difficult to find locally. Recent Panasonic models use standard off-the-shelf NiMH batteries. Need new batteries? Pick'em up anywhere and they're cheap. Want the handset to work for a longer period of time? Swap the OEM batteries out for higher capacity models.

Agree with Robert M -- In each of our our Panasonic handset KX-TGEA20, there are 2 AAA NiMH Panasonic batteries rated 1.2V min 400 mAh. This is for a Panasonic KX-TGE23x or TGE24x system (too lazy to go downstairs and look for exact model).

Another happy Panasonic owner here. The best feature is the ability to import the entire address book from my iPhone

I used AAA eneloop batteries in my panasonic handsets for several years after the original NiMH Panasonic batteries went dead.

They worked perfectly and even recharged fine in the handsets base. Give that a shot if keeping the current setup is an option.

No, it’s not just the batteries, those have been replaced several times. They served us well, but it’s time for a new set.
