Daughter's iPhone getting notifications about my AirPods Pro battery strength

She's 14, so of course texted me from the other room.

Dad, your AirPods are at 20%.
Dad, 10%
4 % OMG charge them!!!

I wasn't using them; they were in their case. I thought it was odd they were dropping so fast unused within like an hour's time. Even weirder my iPhone has never brought this sort of thing to my attention.

I do know she had connected to them at one point so maybe she had them configured to produce sound when not worn?? I heard nothing.

Every once in a while their battery strength will briefly display at the top of my iPhone's home screen if I open the case, or in that large display that briefly consumes the bottom third of the iPhone's screen. It's inconsistent for both where its revealed and when.

Thanks for that link. I wasn't aware AirPod Pros could be reset. I'll give it a try.

Not sharing an icloud account by any chance? It may the Handoff feature at play - we had issues when one of us would walk too close to the others device while using airpods and the audio source would switch devices (I know...first world problems of a wireless world...).

Settings can be adjusted rather than creating unique icloud accounts:
