I had forgotten about them. Didn't know Simple Minds were Scottish. How 'bout Waterboys? Scots?

Mike Scott of the Waterboys was Scottish but the rest of the band was mainly Irish and originally were based in Dublin.

Sensational Alex Harvey Band were mainly from Scotland although they were mostly around in the 70s and unfortunately Alex died in the early 80s.

There was a great band called Runrig.

I just immediately started hearing this in my head:

I like black and white (Dreaming in black and white)
You like black and white (Run Runaway)
See chameleon (Lying there in the sun)
All things to everyone (Run Runaway)
If you're in the swing (Money ain't everything)
If you're in the swing (Run Runaway)
See chameleon (Lying there in the sun)
All things to everyone (Run Runaway)
If you got a crush (Don't beat around the bush)
When I got a crush (Run Runaway)
See chameleon (Lying there in the sun)
All things to everyone (Run Runaway)
Oh now can't you wait (Love don't come on a plate)
Oh now can't you wait (Run Runaway)
See chameleon (Lying there in the sun)
All things to everyone (Run Runaway)
Run Runaway

I thought Sheena was Irish. Nazareth was around in the 80s.

That's OK, I thought Annie Lennox was Danish. (not breakfast) Aberdeen. Who knew.
Had to check why SLM had the eurythmics on his list ...
SLM already noted Primal and Cocteau. Missed that.

Only other I can think of is Donovan, and this isn't an ancient history thread.

LOL, Rod Stewart is English, he just pretends to be Scottish, lol. And yes Sheena Easton is from Bellshill, but do we really want to identify with her, lol. Scotlands shame for sure.

Nazareth and AWB have always been 70's bands to me, not sure what really constitutes a Scottish band tho', Jack Bruce and Mark Knopler are both Scottish but didn't bother including them because they don't seem to be recognized as such, same with AC/DC and the Talking Heads. Basically I listed all the bands I can remember going to see while I was growing up in Glasgow. As I said there are many many more to list.
