Doesn't selling that diminish you as a man in the eyes of your friends? Financial solvency is a very powerful mistress.

I wonder if you could get through that stretch of Panama that keeps the Pan American highway from completion. I don’t see it being all that much better for that expedition than any number of smaller vehicles, maybe worse due to its height.

From what I've read; that thing is no match for the Darien Gap... no vehicle is. People on foot have a better chance.
That's why I picked Panama, though... that'd be journeys end with a vehicle, unless you could find a zombie-free ferry (and apparently, there is not currently a ferry that goes around the Darien Gap... there used to be, but not at present).

I think I would pick up an old Pinzgauer air cooled vehicle for around $15k and spend some money to update it. Might not be as nice as the Unimog but would save a chunk of change. It's also a simple, reliable, very capable off-road vehicle.

Since the unimog can't be registered to go down the highway not practical . Local governments use them . Can also be used as off-road farm equipment .

So mate hating on the Unimog. Would it help if I found a 15% off coupon?
