So I've been trying to sell my son's loaded iMac (he switched to an M1 MBA) for the past week on Craigslist. Got the following hilarious email reply this morning. Had to read it twice to make sure it wasn't a bot, but the specifics mentioned couldn't have been from a bot.

Anyway, he came by & bought it. Great funny guy.. substitute school teacher..wants it for video editing & photography.

It’s a pretty good deal, if they priced it out on Apple.com right, ...but I knew someone selling a Tesla for an even better deal, and we didn’t buy that, either...

...but, this machine can handle some heavy video editing, and that could be very useful for work, and with multiple artists around it might make a difference, and it has about 20 months of AppleCare remaining, which is nice insurance, almost like buying new...

...if there is another $100 of wiggle in the price, I committed $2000, just to quell squabbling within the troops.. ...Part of me hopes you’ll take the offer, and make me a big hero at home... I do have the cash on hand, and can be in <specifics cut>

My wife is a teacher. Actually, a prof who teaches Spanish, her native tongue. She just got her book manuscript (in Spanish; a publisher based in Chile) back from the publisher yesterday with corrections from their proofreader. I asked if there were many. She sheepishly said, “Several - on each and every page.” She’s busy sorting through them as I type this.

You have to remember, I'm a blue collar slacker that didn't spend much time studying. In fact, I've only been to Community College, and that was to complete an apprenticeship. Apprentice coordinator said if I take two additional english classes beyond the apprenticeship, I could earn an associates degree. I thought to myself, Pft! I'm never going to England, I don't need those classes!
