If you look at a cost comparison, one launch of one SLS rocket will cost between one BILLION dollars and 1.2 BILLION dollars. A Single one of it's RS-25 engines costs $40 Million.

SpaceX's internal costs for a Falcon Heavy is about the same as the cost of one RS-25. (Falcon Heavy, with payload fairing, may be as much as $50 Million...).

Think on that a while.

Seriously, part of the rationale for the SLS design was the inventory. Which was incredibly stupid.
