5.5 minutes walk to one.
14 minute walk to another
12 minute walk to another (not counting the non-elevator stairs)
all different lines.

Bus makes them all within 4 minutes.
2 bus lines available 2 minute walk.

5.5 miles from my Oregon place (Amtrak). One of the reasons that I bought there.

3.5 miles.

FWIW (since I don't know what spurred the question), my last apartment was within a 5 minute walk from a metro station.

7.4 miles.

A somewhat roundabout bus trip is estimated 1hr 15min. I have never taken the local bus because it runs so infrequently, and most of the locations I would want travel to would need a transfer (which takes 10 minutes to make sure to sync between routes).

Amtrack probably 35-40 miles. Touristy train that goes a bit in the hills and down to the boardwalk, 8-10 miles.

RR tracks? 15 feet from my front door. Been years though, since the tracks have been used. And I always joke about living on the wrong side of the tracks.

8-minute walk to one.
20-minute walk to another.
2-minute walk to bus stop, then 10-minute bus ride to a third.

All different train lines. Trains come about once every 10 minutes from 6am to midnight, or so.

Amtrak- 30 miles

There was a plan to address this which had pretty good support but one political party declared ‘we don’t ride trains’ and that was that. It’s too bad, we’d take a lot more day trips to Milwaukee and Chicago.

I live in southwest Minneapolis.
The Amtrak station is in St. Paul 14 miles by car.

Transit options are:
walk to bus to light rail to walk currently 1 hour 38 minutes

or save 3 minutes but 3 bus transfers.

or 1 hour 28 minutes 2 buses, but includes 24 minutes of walking.

It might just be easier to drive to my location…

About 7 miles.

Nearest train tracks are about 4 miles away. I can hear the horn on a quiet night.

Same here. Both heavy rail mass transit and regional rail service. To get to Amtrak takes about 15 minutes by transit.
