About clicking links in browsers...?

My main Mac for the moment is a 2012 mini running Sierra.

Safari, maxed out as far as updates go, doesn't play many YouTube videos, generally newer ones.

Old stuff usually plays OK.

I do have some ad blockers installed.

On occasion, someone will post a link, or I'll want to visit a vendor but not want their cookies.

In that case, I'll type or CnP the link into Firefox in the belief that its Private Browsing mode, unlike Safari, flushes cookies on closing.

Ad blockers are installed in FF, too.

I'm wondering if there isn't some way to click on a link in Safari but have it open in Firefox.

The ability to Right-click and select Open in Firefox would be very handy for me.

There probably isn't a Mac app or extension that does this, but does it take to get that kind of functionality?

Yes there is. In Safari/preferences/Advanced, check the box "Show Develop menu" in menu bar. Then go to that Develop menu/User Agent and select the browser of your choice.

Running Sierra means you're running a very old version of Safari. That, plus enabling ad blocking on the YouTube site, will result in some videos being "unavailable".

(I'm running the most recent versions of Big Sur and Safari; I "whitelist" youtube.com and I never have a problem* viewing YouTube videos.)

* On the other hand, I now rarely go to YouTube.com because of it super-obnoxious inserting of ads—even in short videos.
