Stand up for your rights: new Mini + OWC dock

Pardon the un-tidy cables (I'm still rearranging) but I wanted to share how nicely my brand-spankin' new M1 Mini works with our dear sponsors' indispensable Tbolt 3 dock and a vertical dual laptop holder. With desk space at a premium, this is working out great for me.

If you type something, do the words come out sideways on the screen?

wink smiley

(I know, of course they wouldn’t, as long as the keyboard wasn’t sideways too.)

You know, I was wondering if that was a feature vs. a bug.

We had to set the mini on its side as well. Mini is small, but all the cords out the back add another 1"+, wifes desk is too narrow.

She wants to move to dual 24" monitors, so will prob go with a single pole dual screen arm -- and maybe some sort of stand I can attach to it.

Nice setup in all respects! What stand is that? That's a nice stand too....

I was just looking at something like that on Amazon:

TETO (To Each Their Own)

The one I chose: [www.amazon.com]

But of course, Amazon has a dozen varieties to choose from. This one is very sturdy and is good match, visually. I think my Amazon search was something like "dual adjustable vertical laptop stand." I didn't want anything spring-loaded because I wanted to control how much (or how little) pressure is exerted on the Mini rubber. This one adjusts with hex screws on the underside.

Adding to my wish list to be sure to get the right one if I need; thanks. And kudos on a nice setup.

Absolutely! I was a tiny bit hesitant about impacting the black plastic bottom cover on the Mini but once I started fiddling with the stand, it became apparent that it does not have to be super tight in order to keep the Mini stable. Also, there's about a 10mm gap between the dock and the Mini, so plenty of room for air flow. I thought about adding feet to the short side of the dock but it's really not an issue: it's sitting on a rubber pad. But yeah: I could totally see this on your site.

I dunno. A few pieces of leftover oak from a previous project and a few biscuits and I built one in about 15 minutes.
