Any Way to "sleep" one monitor in dual monitor setup?

I have two monitors connected to my MDD 867. One connected via DVI, and one via ADC. Both on the same stock graphics card.

Is it possible to put one of them to sleep when I'm not using it? I'd rather not install any software to do it, if possible.

The monitor I want to "sleep" is a 15" Apple LCD. The power button is one of those sensor types that you just put your finger over or something and it not only turns off the monitor, but the computer, as well. At least I think that's what it's doing.

Am I correct? Or is there something I'm missing?

you might have some control over it in the monitors control panel. otherwise you're out of luck. (yes, its annoying that some of those displays only sleep the whole machine)

Inelegant, but the individual brightness control is as close as you'll get to sleeping a single monitor.

You're right- the button on the Apple monitor powers off the computer.

There is another "button" on the left side of the monitor which will open Display Prefs. This may be faster than selecting the prefs from System Prefs or from the Display icon in the menubar.

In the Display Prefs under the Options tab.:
Display Power Button
Turns the display on and off
Puts the system to sleep or wakes it
Does nothing
