My 2017 15" mac book Pro is currently on 10.14.6 and it keeps bugging me to upgrade to Big Sur. what are the arguments against the upgrade?

Have you checked to see which of your apps are 32-bit and won't run?

Have you checked the Big Sur compatibility for each of the apps you rely upon daily?

Have you got a reliable backup that you've tested recently?

Have you got lots and lots of drive-capacity?

10.14.6 is not Catalina. It is Mojave, IIRC.

10.15.7 is Catalina.

How is It that the Logitech mouse driver is not Big Sur compliant?

The app that you assign button functions that is normally in system preferences needs to be in the applications folder in order to work. If you migrate it will be in the System preferences.

You can set Left, Right and scroll with the Apple mouse prefs but the other buttons......

I screw up my keyboards messing with Logictech files.

From what I have read Kensignton is the same way.

They need to fix their auto installers and I will wait

Ugh. I was hoping my institution would approve Big Sur so we could buy M1 Macs. But these kind of issues are a support nightmare so I’ll just have to wait a bit.
