I'd seen that around, but not watched it until now. Man, she makes that look easy, huh? Unfathomable. I can't even track stand all that good, after years of trying. I wonder if that's in Turkey?

'I'm sorry, Dave, I can't do that,' is what that song always brings to my mind.

I’ve seen such before (could have been her, for all I know). Obviously a lot of hard work, dedication and no little skill. Looks like she might have been having less than an ‘“A” game’ day by her no doubt very high standards, still many props to her.

Cirque du Soleil, what are you waiting for? Sign her up!

Cirque du Soleil is a victim of the pandemic.

[en.wikipedia.org]

On 19 March 2020, responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cirque du Soleil announced that all 44 active shows worldwide would be suspended, and that 4,679 employees, comprising 95 percent of their staff, would be temporarily laid off, effective immediately. These actions brought the company into a state of financial collapse with a debt of over $1 billion. Although it received financial support with a $50 million injection from its shareholders and a $200 million loan from the Quebec government, on 29 June 2020, the company announced that it had filed for bankruptcy protection and was terminating 3,500 employees who had previously been laid off...

The rights to the name and other IP were purchased by Jim Murren and Catalyst Capital. The shows are likely to resume in some form, but without the original creative teams.

CNAC (Centre National des Arts du Cirque), the French circus school where I used to teach juggling, had a strong training program for bicycle riding similar to the skills demonstrated in the video. I remember the students commenting that the style was too German. For example, notice how the woman frequently poses with arms straight out to the side. While that is desirable in competition, a circus artist would try to pose the arms with graceful curves, similar to a dancer.

Personally, I was always impressed by both styles.

Wonder how many times she had to fall before she got that down?

What is it in the olympics, ice-skating vs ice-dancing? Technical vs artistic. It's weird how people gravitate toward the less entertaining, in a way.

I watched the whole video and couldn't get past her tight pants. I mean, she's talented, fit and all that, but geez, those pants were a (nice) distraction.

Yeah, there's a whole discussion here that could take place that would send this straight over to the other side.

I missed a few seconds here and there, but I saw her dab only once, and that may have been deliberate or a nice save— so yeah, pretty much.

The outfit was subtly elegant, and I liked the little curtsies at the end.
