I’m not worried about any phone sold in the last three years. Samsung and LG have OLEDs down.
I would check the screen of any used phone if buy regardless.

FYI, LED-backlit screens also dim over time.
At the same rate? That would give me an idea in general.

I bet the rate are engineered to be similar.
I'm honestly not sure what the concern is. I've owned all sorts of Apple devices, and the screens have lived long and healthy lives. The latest OLEDs in the iPhone X models are not showing more rapid aging than other iPhones; we had one in daily use until a few months ago, used daily for 3+ years and the screen was still fine.

Not concerned. Just trying to understand the newer tech in its real time/practical applications. Some of the articles I've been reading have mentioned things in the forefront, so it made me curious if OLED is really that much more fragile than LED in it's real usage.

It’s not.
