So much for it taking weeks to get it freed. Glad it didn't take as long as many speculated.

Initial reports are that the ship was traveling above the speed limit when it got stuck. Wonder how many points the Captain will get on his license for speeding.smiley-laughing001

Maybe not. Or maybe it would have given a bit more time for course correction. There's a reason that highways impose speed restrictions for trucks and other large vehicles during high winds.

From the description of the event, it seems that it wasn't simply blown sideways. They're saying that it was human-error. The navigator turned to present a better angle to the wind, but didn't consider that the wind was changing unpredictably.
