Legitimate websites that spam my email

Why does a website owner assume that just because I bought an item from them that I now want 3-4 spams a day selling their service? They ALREADY convinced me to buy from them. It makes me not want to do business with them again. As much as I like Tommy Bahama they are terrible about this (among others). No way to set email preferences to less frequent. It's all or nothing.

Ukulele music I couldn't find anywhere else.
I’ve added some recipes and spiritual thoughts as well.

Ames Walker is horrible, multiple a day and I’ve never even purchased from them.

On the plus side, "spam" from legitimate websites/businesses usually have an "unsubscribe" link in them that does actually stop them.

Yea, but I do actually want to see an email from them one a week or so. Just not multiple a day.

Quill is the office supply store email equivalent of Oriental Trading Company.

I bought a case of paper from them and I get three emails a day, daily, and a phone call from my "personal shopping & supply advisor" at least once a week. I get that businesses are trying to stay afloat but all I did was buy a case of paper.

We ordered some party supplies from Oriental Trading back around 02 or 03, that one time, and they've never stopping mailing me catalogs. I got displaced by Hurricane Katrina and eventually they found their way to me. I have a rule in email that just automatically marks them as read, spam, and deletes them.

So even 'legit' companies don't take the hint.

At least Quill carries high quality products. Oriental Trading is a bunch of cheap crap destined for the landfill 5 minutes after it is opened.

Some sites, when you try to unsubscribe, will also offer to change the frequency of emails instead of a total stoppage. They all really want to keep you, and you really need to carefully read the wording on the "unsubscribe" page, often the default selected is that "you've changed your mind" and want to leave things as-is.

This happened to me just the other day from MacHeist. Nothing from them for a long while, then two in two days. When I clicked the unsubscribe button, I was offered one per week.

amazon doesn't send me anything at all except purchase notifications - whatever settings I did were done years ago.

Same with me, no unnecessary mail from Amazon, but my wife seems to get a lot from them. She also orders a lot more than I do.

I've been getting a Newegg email every day, until a few months ago.

Now they all go to the Junk folder, along with more and more retailer emails that I actually like to get, on the off chance they're selling something I can't live without.

I'd call Apple, but they'd probably tell me 'Oh, you need to upgrade to Big Sur!'

No I don't need to.
