For an art project, my daughter wants to print out a jpg image 20" by 17" on about 4 sheets of paper, but we can't seem to make photoshop do it. I even tried to open MacDraw and import the image but I couldn't get the image in. Any thoughts??? Thanks.

Open the image in PS, divide it into four sections, and save/print each selection as a separate image file. Remember to allow some overlap for when you get ready to tape the pieces together.

You could do it in iPhoto also with cropping four copies of the original and printing each overlapping section. On my old version of the program I would have to drag the file into iPhoto four times. I have grown to love that program. Another reason Macs rule.

Try Graphic Converter. Make the image the size you want then go to the print menu. From there go to the Graphic Converter options and then click on the option 'Print on more pages' and it will print it out.

It'd be a LOT easier to email the image to CostCo and have them print it out poster size. It's also relatively cheap. 16 x 20 is $9.99.

Graphic Converter was one of my real favs but to get the OS X version I would have to pay the full price. I'm too cheap.

I answered after getting the gut feeling this project might be due tomorrow, kind of like microchip13's fire starting project. If I was wrong and there's more time, then having it done by a printing outfit is the way to go.

Photoshop is not a printer app. Don't force PS.

Why not let the software that came with the printer do it?
Most consumer printer's CDs have birthday card, banner, and poster capability as part of their standard package.
