Use Sharpie marker to put user's name/initials/smiley face on it. User gets one cup. Up to user to wash it, take care of it, otherwise they'll have to share some else's cup, or go elsewhere to find a personal drinking vessel. Solo Darwinism prevails.

Yes. We try to avoid disposable food- and drink-ware for environmental , but do have a stash of disposable stuff from a couple of parties some years ago. All of that stuff gets washed and bagged for use at the next big party.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Don't have a use for that type of product, so I guess the answer would be no.

Very little recyclable plastic actually gets recycled. That stuff is mostly going to end up in landfills.

....and that's even if they are 'recycled'........most of the people in my building don't even separate recyclables.....they dump everything in one garbage bag.......same at work.....they even have separate recycle bins.....all one has to do is through them in the right bin.....but they never do....they throw everything in the garbage bin......

Around here they specifically list these drink cups as not to be put in the recycling containers. There is little to no market for them to be recycled, and they jam up the sorting machines almost as much as plastic bags. There is some recycling of plastic bags made from PE, but that is through bins at stores to keep them separated.

Oh, and I don't bother with cleaning SOLO cups, their plastic is brittle and cracks easily. I might rinse one out and reuse it a time or two at most. There are cups made with better plastic that I do wash and use longer before disposing of them.

Never use them except for those provided in hotel rooms.

Right, I figure a wash or two is better than none.

I used to. Then my wife would throw them out.

“Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." - Eli Weisel

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

"I don’t want to see religious bigotry in any form. It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentalists and the political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it." - Billy Graham 1981

"Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise" - Barry Goldwater

Solo just introduced aluminum cups. Multi-use and can then be recycled.
