I'm [unfortunately] well aware of the hoops you have to jump through to update the iOS on this watch. I'm currently at 7.3.3 (from doing the dog & pony show a couple of months ago) and have spent countless hours trying to jump to 7.4.1 by unpairing and setting up as new (not restoring). Every time it eventually gives me the 'can't update/must unpair' message (which I already did several times). I'm also keeping it on the charger while doing all of this. Has anyone with the non-cellular AW3 been able to successfully update to the latest iOS? And if so, how??

I did the remove all apps, photos, podcasts and music that you can...unpair...setup as new...update...restore dance to get to 7.4 That process took several hours. Then I added a few apps back in.

When the 7.4.1 update came out a week later, i just clicked the update button and it magically worked.

I did the same thing Markintosh did to try and update to 7.4. For some reason, when setting up as a new watch, 7.2 was installed. When 7.4.1 came out I just hit update, thinking it was at 7.4 only seeing it was at 7.2 after I hit update. It took awhile but updated to 7.4.1 with no issues.

Well, that worked! I deleted everything I could find (did not unpair), then went into General—> Usage—> Storage and saw that the install package was still there, so I hit the install button. I figured it would fail again, but it kept going until completion. Maybe took 20-30 minutes (I really didn’t keep track, was just expecting the opposite).

I had a similar problem with my Series 2 and some version of watchOS.

But I hit a wall with deleted more and more and the app still telling me 'not enough room'.

Restarted the 'Phone and the Watch, no joy.

Unpairing and repairing did work.

7.4.1 and my Series 6 were like Kerrygold.

It just worked.
