Posting from my new (refurb) M1 MBA Retina 8-core GPU w/16GB/1TB! Purchased direct from Apple, subsidized by some leftover gift card credit from 2020. Added a Kensington Privacy Screen to protect the display, as my last MBP (Early 2013) ended up with a seriously splotched and uncleanable screen from years of transport with display against keyboard. The MBP had increasingly glitchy video issues, and was stuck with 8GB RAM which was cramping my style.

Household is also home to a new Mac M1ni (8GB/512GB), purchased from Costco with a generously supplied coupon from Dennis R. This replaces a 2012 Mini, also acquired via the forum, which performed admirably for several years despite some minor issues. It's exciting to have two new machines as I start the long project of combining disparate audio and photo libraries, ripping a large collection of DVDs/Blurays, and centralizing other files to the QNAP NAS.

So far, everything is copacetic!

hmmm. i received a coupon code for $50 off a $500 costco.com purchase but i don't need anything so i trashed it and it didn't occur to me that it wasn't unique to my account. maybe it isn't.
