Reading the experience of a forum member recently, I decided that my 2nd gmail account was not secure enough. I set it up initially as a throwaway account, but it has grown important over the years, but it still had a very unsecure password.
I changed it so I had to change the pw in apple mail and iOS mail. But I first get some kind of message from Mac OS Mail telling me that my settings have been changed and needs attention - 'open Safari' is my default option - I clicked cancel. I just wanted to update passwords - what's Safari got to do with that?
I open preferences, but I no longer seen any place to enter or update passwords on my accounts. Somehow I managed to regenerated that message and selected 'open safari' this time and was taken to a google page where I entered the updated password. Also did so on iOS. The only way to get this done is through an error message at least, I couldn't find another way.
Doing that generated 9 emails.
Damn! The internet is a wonderful thingy, but it is getting more and more complicated... before you ask, no, I didn't opt for 2x authentication.
