Kids playing classics

I love it when I run across young folks playing actual musical instruments and actual rock music. Gives me hope for the future.

I listened to "Never Been Any Reason" by Head East on AppleMusic. I then checked out a couple of live performances on Youtube.

Yesterday, Youtube put this one my feed.....

[youtu.be]

Appears to be High School aged kids playing and singing their hearts out.

“Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." - Eli Weisel

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

That’s an amazing cover. Their stage presence is wonderful, I bet they’d be fun live.

More cowbell, of course.

Nice! It is great to see that shows like American iDolt haven't completely killed off the formation of young bands.

I've been following Liliac for a couple of years now. It's an all in the family group of 5 siblings. The lead singer Melanie has a terrific voice. Cover songs are their strong suit. Here's Piece of My Heart:

They also have great cover's of Holy Diver, Enter Sandman and Crazy Train amongst others.
Yes, the "official" videos are pretty polished and involve some autotune, but the actual live pieces are still good.

IMO, there's something about the exciting exuberance of youth that cannot be faked - it's integral to the music itself. I think that's why some of the old 60-70's groups who still tour strike me as a little macabre.

Wheel 'em out, boys!
