I have the following devices:

2017 MacBook Air - Big Sur 11.4
2011 MacBook Pro - Catalina 10.15.6 (Dosdude1)
2011 MacMini Server - Catalina 10.15.7 (Dosdude1)

I use to be fairly handy back in iTunes days with sharing between computers that are authorized on same Apple ID. I am now just finally getting around to playing around with some of the details of MUSIC and TV apps.

Not sure why, but after googling around for how to do some things with the settings, I often get pointed to the Accounts in the Menu Bar of the MUSIC and TV apps. On none of the computers above do I see the Accounts in the Menu Bar of those two apps (?). In the computers listed above, they are all tied in with the "same Apple ID for iCloud" and all with the "same Apple ID for Media & Purchases" (for me, those two Apple IDs are not the same).

What am I missing for the Accounts not to be showing up in the Menu Bar of the MUSIC and TV apps?

The Account menu is to the immediate left of the Window menu in the Music.app and in the TV.app.

That is what I picked up from googling as well, that the Accounts would be listed by Window.



Looking at MUSIC/TV apps on my Big Sur machine right now is the following: (same for the Catalina MacMini):

Music, File, Edit, Song, View, Controls, Window, Help

TV, File, Edit, Video, View, Controls, Window, Help


I must have screwed up a setting somewhere, but cannot figure out where.


EDIT: Interesting on the Big Sur machine, Accounts shows up in the Podcasts app but not in Books app. It should show up in all four of the apps?

Under "Restrictions", iTunes was disabled. Once I re-enabled iTunes then Accounts showed up in both TV & MUSIC. Not sure how I disabled iTunes like that on all three computers! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Much appreciated... That was driving me nuts.

Now to see if I can get all these computers setup like I had before...


BTW...
Is there such a thing still as Authorizations & Deauthorizations of computers in the newer macOS? I am currently googling that now to see if that is still a thing...


EDIT: OK, I do see that Authorizations & Deauthorizations still a thing within the Accounts Menu.
