Input oddities (keyboard, mouse) after updating to 11.4

Just a few notes of heads-up; neither of these is debilitating but I thought I'd point them out.

Scrolling stops working. Trackball/mouse scrolling stops working after update; discussed via Reddit and a few other online sources. Suggested fix is installing USB Overdrive (which I used to use ages back) and that fixes it. (FWIW, I'm using a Logitech M575 Trackball.)

Function keys not working. On my Kinesis Freestyle 2, playback keys (pause/play, fwd, back) and volume control have stopped working, as have the spaces, etc. Once again, USB Overdrive saves the day.

Again, neither of these was too bad, but damn annoying; still, USB Overdrive saved the day.

There's been one issue for my 11.4 update.

I use Ctrl-Scroll a lot for zooming.

After the update, the Ctrl key takes about .5s or so, to 'kick in'.

If I use the combo normally, there's no zoom, nothing happens.

If I hit the Ctrl key and wait a tick before using the Scroll gesture to so, happy happy, joy joy.

A restart may fix it, maybe a Safe Boot.

Alas, no Disk Warrior for the newer OSs.

Adapting isn't too much of a FWP, at least until I switch Macs.

Read your post and saw I was behind so I clicked update.
M1 Mini

M570 trackball still working( good as it ever did on Big Su**).

Opened music, {CSN Cathedral}.
Apple usb extended keyboard A1243
Plays, pauses, skips forward and backwards through tracks.
{BS&T I Can't Quit Her}

Looking at my Fathers day headphones...............

Anyway all is well here at the moment. I feel your pain and have no answers. I had to reinstall everything and lost everything doing it when I first got my Mini.

Was it debilitating?
No.
Just a knalling pain ...... not having a scrolling mouse or a half functioning ext keyboard and a brand new computer.

Good luck.

I don't have any special software for the keyboard; it's always "just worked".

I did install the logitech options software (to turn off the scroll wheel click-button capability) and, yes, it was updated.

Reported all to Apple. I think this is further reaching than just my two devices, as I've read of others encountering the same issues.

Again, USB Overdrive saved the day on everything, and I'm back up & running as I was before. And I even added a few items for convenience while fiddling around with the software, so I'm ahead & will count it as a win. :-)

If Logitech is in the system preferences it won't work cause Big Su** doesn't look there for it. So I tossed it and MY KEYBOARD PREFERENCES went with it. Logitech Sweet winking smiley
Big ugly.

It is out there. Google away.
