I was heading the Chunk route but have recovered and lost the added pounds, so I'm with Speedy.

While I wouldn't say I am slim, I didn't go the other way. I am roughly the same weight. This is shocking to me as I was playing volleyball 1 or 2 times a week before things shut down. It has been a mammoth effort to curtail my bad eating habits,

since this seems to be talking "physically" -- same.

Had my best year $ wise in 2020. Sadly, lost a $2000/mo client at the start of this year... but they were more work than they were worth... so not a total loss.

On a related note - myself and everyone on our Program got the notice (for work) about two weeks ago to move our belongings to a different office - turns out that some remodeling happened during the pandemic, and as a result our desks got moved to a different location.

After working from home for 14+ months now, just driving the 19 miles to the office and back seemed like a chore - can't believe that was the daily routine for 30+ years; I don't envision ever going back, except to turn in my badge and laptop when I retire at the end of this year.

Back to the topic at hand - I'd say physically, I'm pretty much the same as a year ago - the exercise habits didn't change, but I do get about an hour more sleep each night, since the commute time is now zero.

My daughter did, too. She is 30, worked part-time (15 hours/week) at McDonald’s until the shutdown occurred. That extra $600 a week in unemployment insurance last year was something else - while it lasted. Normally she would not have qualified for unemployment insurance because she was part-time. She has developmental disabilities and has no concept of amounts of money so I am her representative payee. She banked, or rather saved in an ABLE account, about 40 times what she had saved the entire rest of her life. She is also immunocompromised so she was not permitted by her doctors to return to work until 14 days after her second dose of vaccine so for awhile this year she also banked the $300 from the second federal tranche.

Now she only works nine hours per week because her restaurant has not yet opened it’s dining area. And she takes home a bit less than $100/week which pays her $400 monthly rent. But she also gets $560/mo Social Security so things aren’t that tight for her (utilities run about $75/month and the landlord provides free internet, her bus pass is $45/month and she blows the rest on groceries, Rx co-pays, etc.) She thinks she has it made, or will once she gets back up to 15 hours/week so she has enough left over to hit a fast food place now and then.

No real changes at my house. Daughter #2 .s daughter caught mild case of Covid but the other 3 family members did not. Everyone caught it in Daughter #1.s house, all mild cases. 3 of 5 caught Covid in #2 son’s house. #2 Son have a fairly severe case…took 5 weeks to get back to near normal. #1 son got away scot-free, as did his 3 boys and estranged wife.

All of us were very diligent with masks, washing and distancing, but some were inadvertently exposed and caught it.

COVID was the best thing that could have happened for my family. We became closer and there are real tangible changes that I am grateful for. In addition to family growing closer I feel like I've become more content and relaxed. I'm not eager to resume the sometimes hectic travel schedule we sometimes kept in the summers. As for the original question I'm down about 12 pounds but not a hunk, I don't drink (anymore) and I'm definitely not a monk.

I’m going to say “monk”.

I didn’t do anything but go to work and come home. I never went for a motorcycle ride last year. It was like home became a sanctuary and once there I only left to go to work.

My wife did the shopping. My youngest daughter never went out. We all binged on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

I felt distance between my wife and me. It felt like she was afraid of getting Covid from me. I wore a mask everywhere. I washed my hands frequently. I did all I could to stay safe.

And then I came down with Covid just before Thanksgiving. Fought it at home for 8 days. Ended up in the hospital with Covid related complications. Once stabilized, they sent me home and was on supplemental oxygen for 2 months. Went back to work and was exhausted for the next 2 months. Couldn’t remember people’s names.

Finally started feeling good the last couple of weeks.

It has been hell.

MacArtist, did you get vaccinated yet? I have a friend who also had severe COVID, and his vaccination really helped him. I have no idea why this should help so much (he had COVID a year ago), but a month later he really started feeling better. I hope things turn around for you too.

Found out yesterday that my neighbor *just* got it 3 weeks ago. Thought he had left on a fishing trip cause he had his boat out. Turns out he was inside feeling like "the worst thing ever". Hes younger, maybe not yet 40, so he might be back at it sooner rather than later.

their son plays baseball at a high level, so they have been all over the north part of the state practicing and playing in tournaments. I cant peg them as anti mask... but possible. So no real surprise.
