Oxycodone FU

next morning now and the pain is considerable reduced. I took a half oxy around 12, and then switched to acetaminophen around three when the pain woke me up. Feels fine now, some residual pain that the acetaminophen can handle. I'll remember to ask my doc about that aceto-ibuprofen combo.
Still have a couple oxys left. They will go to the back of the medicine cabinet probably forever.

If your home is 'child free', put them (well sealed) in the fridge.
Be well & listen to your 'doc'!

When my daughter had her dual knee surgeries, she took acetaminophen every 8 hours and ibuprofen every 8 hours so they were staggered. So she was getting something every four hours. Also with one or the other she took half an oxy.

She became addicted and we had to wean her off the oxy. No fun for an 11 year old.

Glad you are feeling better. I would recommend you NOT 'keep' the oxycodone handy. The acetaminophen does break down over time, and you're at risk of being raided. We had to get a safe for my wife's pain meds after an addict friend of our daughter stole a bunch of them.

FWIW, not everyone is subject to 'getting addicted' to opiates, and some more easily than others. Don't hesitate if your pain is debilitating. For me, Advil and Tylenol are enough. 600-800mg Ibuprofen, 1000 mg acetaminophen when I'm dealing with acute pain from all the ironmongery in my shoulder.

If you had taken one entire tablet at 12, you probably would have slept through the night.

Sounds like it’s working out OK for you blooz, good.

I’ve not yet had implants but remember when I had my wisdom teeth removed. Happened later in life ( around 40 ) and the aftereffect of the anesthesia made me weepy, a common side effect for some I LATER learned. I was given a pile of drugs to take home but don’t remember what they were. Never took any; I wanted to wait and see how bad the pain was. I laid on the couch but it never went beyond a dull annoyance so I just watched TV all day.

Yeah, my thought too. We sent our last leftovers to the sheriff.
